Travel & Accompanying Care
Would you like to access events in your local community but for one reason or another need assistance to do this? John Stanleys can provide a care worker so that you can enjoy more flexibility and freedom when planning appointments and social arrangements. This could be a regular activity or a ‘one off’ engagement.
We can help with:- Appointments including the hospital, dentist, doctor or chiropodist
- Social engagements including visiting friends, theatre, cinema or an exercise club
- All types of shopping including food, clothes and visits to the local market
- Companionship including reading, letter writing or a game of cards
Sitting and Respite
Services
If you are looking after
someone on a daily basis it can be a very isolating
experience. We can provide you with an experienced care
worker to enable you to relax for a few hours or just
have some ‘time out’? You can use this free time to
either go out visiting friends, personal appointments or
shopping always safe in the knowledge that you don’t
have to rush back. We can extend this service for
periods of 24hr care and weekend care under our respite
service. If you are planning a holiday, some time away
from home or you may be unwell yourself, we can
stay with your relative or friend so that they can
remain safely within their own environment. Please check

We can arrange for someone to call upon you, or a relative, during the day just to ensure everything is well. It may well be that the reassurance of someone popping in just to check everything is safe and that you are comfortable is all that is needed.
We can also supply you with a list of support and activity groups in your area specific to your interests.
Blitz Cleaning
Another valuable service that John Stanleys is able to provide is what we term our ‘Blitz’ service. Many individuals whether it is due to increasing problems with mobility, long-term illness; mental health problems or self-neglect can find themselves unable to maintain a hygienic and safe living environment.
If the situation is not addressed it can lead to an unhealthy environment, complaints from neighbours, housing departments and indeed care providers.
Whether this service is requested by the local authority or privately through our agency you can rest assured that each service is assessed individually before a detailed quote is prepared for you.
Our basic services can include;
- A thorough clean so that a healthy and hygienic environment can be restored. This can include the carpets being shampooed, curtains laundered, windows cleaned etc
- Removal and safe disposal of rubbish and unwanted items
- Replacement of basic items, such as crockery, cutlery, bed linen, curtains
- Garden Safety, ensuring all pathways are clear and entrance areas are easily accessible
We recommend an ongoing maintenance ‘home help’ service once the Blitz clean has been performed in order to maintain the standards achieved.
